create web drive

I would like to create a virtual web drive like what xdrive has. I what this
for personal reasons. I know this can be done I just do't know where to
start. I would login to my webpage and have a virtual drive Like
h:\%username% mapped to my desktop from my webserver.

I have no doubt that it can be done, but I strongly suspect the only way
would be via a custom ActiveX control hosted in the browser. In this
particular case, that would be a pretty advanced topic.
