Create MS Access 2000 in 2003 computer?

Hi,

I have two questions before designing my new Access database. My database
will be stored in a network drive and used by many people within our company.
1) My computer is running Access 2003, can I create a 2000 version of Access
database? reason is there are still many people who have 2000 ver on their
machine.
2) I will split the database into FE & BE and apply security to manage it.
Should I create the database first (both table and form, etc), then split the
database and apply security or the other way?

Thanks for many help and sugguestions.

Yes. In fact Access2003 defaults to Access2000 format databases. There
is a later 2002/3 format but you have to explicitly convert the
database to that format, or change the default, to use it.

Security needs to be applied independently to BOTH databases - you
secure the tables in the backend, and you secure the application
objects in the frontend. I'd split first and then apply the security
but you can do it either way.
