Create GPRS connection?

Hi, I using merge replication over a GPRS/3G connection how can check
if
the device is connected to GPRS/3G and if not create the connection?
It's a C#.Net(2005) windows mobile application.

I use ConnectionManager class from Smart Device Framework (OpenNETCF).

Works perfect in SDF 1.4. I understand it does also work in SDF 2.0
