I'm taking delivery of a new notebook tomorrow. It has an 80gb drive and
it will arrive with XPHome already installed. I would like to create
logical drives D: and E: but I can't remember how to do this. The help
file says I need to r/click on unallocated space to create a partition
but I'm assuming there won't be any unallocated space. Can I do this in
XP or do I need something like Acronis Disk Director?
Thanks.

Can't do it with XP (without erasing the disk and starting over.) Not
familiar with Disk Director, but what you're looking for is partitioning
software. Partition Magic wil do it.
