create DBF file from excel

Hello. I receive mailing lists which arrive in dbf
format. I can open in excel, however if I try to add
columns and "save as" dbf file the columns don't stay.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi

When you open an DBF with Excel, a named range (Database?) is created. When
you save, the data falling into this named range are saved to DBF-file. The
named range doesn't adjust automatically, so whenever you add/remove
columns/rows, before saving you have to check the named range and adjust it
manually when needed.
