Create Date in My Computer

I am trying to view the creation date of files that I have created - not the
'last saved/modified date'. When I look in the Properties at Statistics, the
create date is showing the same date as the last saved/modified date. I know
this not to be true. This same thing has happened to a no. of my files in
different folders.

I'm using Win XP Pro with Office 2003. My files are stored on my server and
I synchronise daily with the files I've just mentioned from my laptop to the
server.

In My Computer, I also added the Create Date field to the Details View when
looking at my files but no actual dates show in that column.

Does anyone know anything about this. I need to find a failsafe way to view
the dates my files were actually created. I write poetry and need to keep a
track of which documents were created first - how I developed the poem from
the starting document to the final one. I know about versions in Word but
that isn't what I'm looking for.

Can anyone help?

Mary.

The cause is likely the synchronization you are doing. You want
fail-safe? Make the date part of the file name.
