Create CD

Using Windows XP Home SP2 on Compaq Presario 5000 PC & trying to copy files
to CD. I get as far as the CD Writing Wizard screen, but the software keeps
telling me to put a CD in the recordable drive (F). It does not seem to
recognize that there is one there. I can read files on CD's. Any good
advice?
