hello,
I am trying to get word 2003 to have names such as "Christopher" or "John"
to display as misspelled words. I know you can not edit the main
dictiornary, and these are not located in the custom dictionary, I saw I need
to make an exclusion dictionary, name it the same as the main, but with a
..exc and then add the words to the exclusion dictionary. I haven't had any
luck, any help would be great, or even an easier way.
Thank you

Have you checked here?

Yes I did, I found this on the forum yesterday, along with some other's I
found on the internet. Both a co-worker and myself have tried this, we can
get it to misspell "christopher" but not "brian" or "cynthia" or any other
word, just christopher, and that is on two machines we have tired. It is
very odd it works with one word but not any others.

Your first post mentioned "Christopher" rather than "christopher." Note that
the exclusion dictionary (like Custom.dic) is case-sensitive, so it will
make a difference which version you entered. FWIW, most names that aren't
otherwise words will be marked as misspelled anyway (but will be
autocorrected if they are the first word in a sentence, which would then
prevent them from being marked).

I was aware it was case sesitvie, and had tried it many ways, it still does
not explain why it work with "christopher" but not "abut" or "cynthia" we
even tried "the" Beg, mid, or end of sentence upper or lower case, it would
not mispell only "christopher" It makes no sense.

What language do you have assigned to the exclusion dictionary? (Should be
"All languages.")
