Create a task with past date not showing in calendar view outlook

Hello all. When I create a new task in Outlook 2007 and set both the Start
Date and Due Date to a past date (say, yesterday), and then I go to the
calendar view / week view, in the Tasks panel I see my newly created task,
but rather than in the yesterday day I see it on the day it was created
(today).

If rather than selecting a past date, I use a future date (say, tomorrow),
then the calendar view shows the tasks properly.

Am I missing something here? Or is this a bug? I hope this is not a
"feature", since what would happen if I have to report a task that I did
yesterday, but since I was away from my office all day long, I didn't have
the chance to pre-create the task.

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The taskpad shows all tasks due today as well as past due tasks on 'today'

Hi Diane, thanks for your reply.

I've uploaded a picture to explain better myself.

As you can see, both the task's Start Date and Due Date are set to
26/10/2009, however in the calendar view the task is displayed on 28/10/2009.
This only happens with past dates. Also, if I create a task and set its dates
for today, tomorrow it will display the task properly, in the date it was
created (as you can see in the picture).

Is this a feature?

Thanks again.

Correct. If the task is overdue (as it would be if due on the 26th and today
is the 28th) they will show 'today'. If you don't complete the task today
(by marking it complete), it will move to Tomorrow... and the next day...
and the next day, until you mark it complete.

But the thing is that the task wasn't overdue, since it was finished on
26th. The only thing is that I'm only reporting it until 28th (because there
wasn't a computer available at the time).

Isn't this scenario supported by Outlook?

Thanks again, cheers.

Hi all,

Sorry to reopen this old thread, but I'm facing the same problem in Outlook 2010 and I can't find a solution on google.

To summarize: I've created a task today (lets say 08/06/2011) and I've put the start and end date on yesterday (07/06/2011). I've marked it as complete. In the calendar, I show the daily task list and "show tasks on due date". The problem is that Outlook shows this tasks on the day I created it (08/06/2011) instead of on the due date (07/06/2011).

Can I change this? I've already tried to drag and drop the task from today to yesterday, but this only deletes the complete flag.

Thanks in advance for your help!
