Create a new database by importing

How can I import design and data from another database. I know how to create
a new blank database and select Get External Data then import. However, the
data I'm importing from is another database which is secure. I don't know if
this can be done but I designed the secure database and have the password to
open it but Access does not prompt for password. It just says you don't have
permissions and ends there. I cannot import a database that Access won't
open.

If you used Access user level security to secure the database, you
need to launch Access using the same workgroup file that the secured
database uses and a username with the necessary permissions. How about
opening the secured database and then exporting the objects to the
unsecured one?

If you've just protected the database with a password, either open the
protected database and export from it, or temporarily remove the
password so you can import.

Hi John,

These are excellent solutions that may work. I will try them out. I've had
this problem for 2 days now and couldn't seem to find a solution. It should
work. Thanks again.
