Create a file that cannot be edited

I need to create Powerpoint files that can be viewed only and cannot be
edited. Adobe does allow some edit capabilties. This is for scienctific
presentations where the data cannot be changed at all. I located some
software that can be purchased, but I wanted to check first with a forum to
ensure the lack of edit capability is not already within Powerpoint and I am
just now aware. Thanks for your help.

In PowerPoint 2007 version, you are offered an option to protect your PPT
with a password.
Here is how to :
Right click on your PPT > click NEW >( you're on 'edit' mode ).> Office
button > Save As > near the bottom next to the SAVE button, there is the
button TOOL, click it > General Options > Password to modify, enter your
password > OK
P.S. You can enable " password to open " as well, if necessary.

The important thing to know here is, that modify password in 2007 is very
very very insecure. Just open the file in PPT 2003 and you can edit it as
though it has no password.
