CRC in a PST file

hi...

I'm running Outlook 2007 and today I couldn't backup my PST-file because of
an stubborn CRC error which keep popping up.
So I tried to run SCANPST but same error.
Then I downloaded an HDD tool from the manufacturer of the computer, but it
didn't fix it either.

It's a Pakard Bell Easynote with a 80GB Travelstar 4K120-80 HDD running
Windows XP SP2 Norwegian edition.

I know I'm on the wrong newsgroup, but can anyone send me in the right
direction towards a solution?

Sounds as if the file is borked. Time to discard and reconstruct.
I expect the file contains a location that holds the CRC, which was
calculated and installed when the file was last altered. This
requires detailed knowledge, including the actual CRC polynomial.

The Event viewer show an error-ID 7
Seems like at physical fault on the disk surface.

I cannot backup my PST file at all!

I remember back in the days of the early nineties when there where a bunch
of software to extract data for partially damaged sectors. They where run
from the DOS prompt.

Is there a similar solution available today for NTFS formatted HDDs?
