CRC Error in Quick Restore

Hi all,

New Year Greetings.

I have a serious problem with my Compaq presario 2700 notebook. I am trying to restore my notebook using Compaq Quick Restore CD. During the recovery I am getting "Error #45, CRC Error in Data" error and not able to finish the restoration.

Can anyone please give me some suggestions on resolving this issue. Right now, I do not have any OS on the notebook so I am not able to start my computer at all.

A CRC error usually means that the CD Disk is corrupted. You might want to
make sure the CD is clean and free of scratches.

You should call Compaq for a replacement.

Greetings --

This error usually means that the disk is defective, but it can
also happen if the read/write heads of the drive that created the disk
aren't aligned the same as the drive that's trying to read the disk.

You'll need to contact Compaq about getting a replacement CD.

Try Compaq's Support Site. Its Compaq's own version of
Windows.
