crashing

I wonder if anyone has had similar experiences?

I am running XP on an Athlon. When I am browsing (online)
using IE 6 occasionally when i click on a link (not the
same link) the computer restarts. I wonder if there is a
malfunction in my machine or maybe a virus?

There is no countdown like with Blasterworm and I am
running Norton Internet Security and Norton Antivirus
both of which are up to date and have found nothing.

Any ideas appreciated.

Spontaneous restarts would indicate some hardware problem.

Heat can be the cause, clean the fan in the back of your computer box.
Make sure that the small fan for your CPU is working correctly.
