I get the same problem, but not until I try to use
videoeffects, titles etc. I can see all the small
thumbnails representing the diffent effects but as soon as
I click on one of them the program shuts down.
(Importing, trimming, etc. is no problem)
I'm using the danish version. (2.0.3312.0)

Jep, I found it at PapaJohn(thanks, good site). It showed
up to be "divxaf.ax" that came with Nimo.
I couldn't unregister it though, it is not on the list of
codecs in

"My Computer > Manage > Select Device Manager > Expand
Sound, video and game controllers in the right pane >
Select Audio (or Video) Codecs > right-click > Properties
Properties tab"

So eventually I renamed the file-ekstension and that did
the trick.

IMPORTANT!

For the record... the CODECS solution mentioned here has
FINALLY solved my problems... all of them! It was the DVD
codec that was my problem but, simply follow the
instructions on Papa John's page and I bet you will have
success as well.

Thanks Papa John! You are the best!
