CRASH

My IBM Thinkpad crashed in last nights storm with much
flashing of lights and bleeeps.
will not now enable to get passed the first screen which
says error 0175 bad crc1 post device stop post task. will
not allow me to get in to set up. Does this mean that my
laptop has had it?
