CPU Usage Maxing Out

Tonight I noticed any games I played lagged terribly, so I exited and pulled
up the Task Manager and watched my CPU usage. Every 10 seconds or so it
spikes to 100% and stays there for 2 or 3 seconds. It was fine this morning,
then I came home from work, and its doing it. Does anybody know what I
should be looking for to solve this problem? Thank you.
 
Try going to run,type:Msconfig,services,hide all microsoft services,then
disable all,close-out restart computer.This way after reboot,if the cpu runs
normal,you'll know its in 3rd party software,if it continues its an xp issue.
When results are obtained,reset Msconfig back to previous state.
