Cox pop and smtp servers

I know my servers to use in Windows Mail, however, when I set it up it worked
fine I got all my e-mails. Then it kept giving me an error message about my
pop and smtp servers, but it still gives me my incoming mail. However, I
cannot send out messages using Cox's smtp server. Does anyone have any help?
Thanks!

First thing, call Cox. They are always very helpful, once you get past the
phone automated assistance.

In the future, don't upload a graphical image of the he error message,
just right-click on it and select copy, then paste the text.

The incoming server name "pop.cox.west.net" is wrong.
It should be pop.west.cox.net.

The outgoing server name "smtp.pop.west.cox.net" is wrong.
It should be smtp.west.cox.net.

I will take a screen shot of the error message and upload it. The links are

Gee thanks...so not only do you want your problem solved
but you even delegate the labour of transcribing messages
into a format suitable for search engines.

Sigh!

Nevertheless... you message strongly indicates that you have
incorrect server names and should contact your ISP for
the right ones.

Mind you I guess the correct SMTP server name is actually

smtp.cox.west.net

but I'm not in a position to change it for you so if you wouldn't mind
going into your

Tools > Accounts > *your email account* > Properties > Servers
and change the SMTP name to "smtp.cox.west.net"

then OK it, Apply it and close out.
you might be in business.

First off, I figured uploading images of the error message would be more
effective in correctly analyzing the situation and solving the problem at
hand. I wasn't aware it was such a difficult task to click on a link.

Oh and-- I figured an image would give a better refrence of the problem at
hand. Why don't you try to be a little kinder? I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that
typing or clicking a link was such a difficult task.

It is not the clicking on the link that is the issue but having clicked the
link
one is not able to cut and paste the message into a search engine.
It has to be read and manually transcribed.

Far easier for both yourself and us would be to simply cut
and paste the message into your post.

It's been a long day and giving free support sort of stretches my kindness
envelope to near it's limits. I'm doing my best.

Clickinh the link is NOT the issue.

You wouldn't be aware that typing the message is tiresome
unless you had tried it, but think it through.

It's not a difficult task to click on a link, but it makes it impossible
to copy and paste text from the image, thereby quadrupling the
amount of time it took for me to analyze the error message and
to quote portions of it.
When it comes to mail server error messages, the graphics
add nothing, all the information is in the text.
