Counting using two sets of criteria Harlon, JE< Anyone??

S

Spiketrip

Just to reiterate what I am trying to do. I want to count (not sum)th
number of profits for each source and the number of losses for eac
source. Below is a small table that I tried in excel.

Harlon, JE: I tried again by entering values for the array. Stil
doesn't work. here is a test table I did in excel. Every combinatio
<0,>0, LDR, House, etc. comes up 0.

Any other suggestions.

Thanks again for all of the suggestions.

Mike

Date P/L P/L YTD Start Bal End Bal Source
4-Jan -200 -200 100.00 -100.00 LDR
14-Jan -100 -300 -100.00 -200.00 House
16-Jan 200 -100 -200.00 0.00 QQQ
18-Jan 500 400 0.00 500.00 House
30-Jan -200 200 500.00 300.00 LDR

=SUMPRODUCT(--(C38:C42<0),--(F38:F42="LDR")) returns "0" with ever
synopsis.

This can't be that dificult with all of the computing power...aaah bu
it is. I have tried numerous different formulas and nothing so far.

Thanks in advance for the help.

There can be only a few options since the formula will work
your values are not numeric, there are hidden spaces html crap
Try

=ISNUMBER(C38)

copy down to C42, if you don't get TRUE
then they are text and would return zero
To check the F column,

=LEN(F38)=3

if the entries with LDR does not return TRUE
there is another reason..

Finally, stay in the same thread
