Counting Number of Occurences

How do I count the amount of lines that occur between times, i.e. 0001
through 0059, and so on through 2359? I have very large spreadsheets and
have resorted to sorting by time and then highlighting the lines and seeing
what the count states.
 
One way

=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A500>=--"00:01"),--(A1:A500<=--"00:59"))
