Firstly HI! really glad to have found this place, just sorting out a stock database in excel and whilst i have COUNTIF letting me know how many instances of '5x7 frame' i have, this only counts the amount times its mentioned in the cells selected.
What I need is for it to check the quantity and add this on so for example:-
Type | Quantity - separate cells
5x7 | 1
5x7 | 3
6x4 | 1
5x7 | 5
it would return:-
for 5x7s - 9 because in the cells that have 5x7 in them, there is 9 total quantity
I have a feeling it's one of these 'IF' type formulas but A-Level I.T escapes me now
