Count the number of Commas found in cell A2

Is there a way to count the number commas (,) in a cell?? I am doing
a text to column by Commas (,) then doing a Countif on the data to get
my number... Is there a was to count with doing the text to column????

Here's one way to count
the number of commas in a cell:

=LEN(A1)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1,",",""))
