count the no.of records between two dates

I need help on Some Excel functions that can help me to solve above subject.
I am creating a testing template . In which i have to count the no.of
records that comes between two days.
eg. 10/29/2004 & 10/30/2004.
I am looking for your suggestion.

=COUNTIF(A:A,"<=10/30/2004")-COUNTIF(A:A,"<=10/29/2004")

try this where a1 and a2 contain your start/stop dates
=sumproduct((rngA>=a1)*(rngA<a2))
