count down timer

is there a way of adding a count Clock to a cell which will take my
current time from my system clock to a date of my choice ie. time now 1.00pm
11/12/07 to 00:00:00 01/01/08

Not sure, but I entered =DATEVALUE("12/25/2007")-NOW()
and formatted cell as Time 37:30:20
and got 328:36:02 (Hours. minutes & seconds) till Christmas
Day;;;;
