Couldn't share

Hi,


I am using windows XP. If i share my folders it should
be accessible from any of the system in the network right!. But when i
try to access my system from other 's systems i am getting an error
msg.



\\192.168.0.5 is not accessible.You might not
have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator
of this server to find out if you have access permission.

What should i do to make my system
accessible...Help me ya

Running the network wiz usually fixes things providing you network
infrastucture is sound.
Also make sure you have identical accounts and none blank passwords
on each machine

Are both the workgroup names the same on both computers (shouldn't
really matter as much with XP as it did with, say, Win98, but might as
well get things as close as possible).

Try mapping the shared folder.

What is your network structure? What software (i.e. virus/firewall
protection)?

there is NO firewall in my system including windows firewall. my system
is not accessible even from other xp systems..

Umm, if your system "is not accessible even from other xp systems",
how will sharing files work?

On the WinXP PC, create local user account(s), with non-blank
password(s), that have the desired access privileges to the desired
shares. Log on to the other PCs using those account(s), and you will be
able to access the designated shares, provided your network is
configured properly. Also, make sure that WinXP's built-in firewall is
disabled on the internal LAN connection.

Usually, WinXP's Networking Wizard makes it simple and painless --
almost entirely automatic, in fact. There's a lot of useful,
