Couldn't copy files during setup?

I tried to install XP Professional on my computer, but certain files wouldn't
copy. I have two copys of my XP, the original and a backup that I used during
install because some files just wouldn't copy. Everything but the following
two files didn't copy... I'm not sure what they are or if they are required,
but it seems like XP is running without them. The files are:
- crusoe.sys (not sure if i spelled it right)
- oembios.bin
Could someone tell me what they are and if I really need them?
Thank you in advance

I suspect that you need to "zero-fill" the hard-disk. I've experienced
several sutuations where I've been led to believe that the XP cd-rom was
faulty, or the cd drive....mobo.....etc. (hardware) was faulty, and in every
case after zero-filling the hd, installation went without a hitch.

...of course after "zero-filling" you have to partition / format / and
install from scratch. *** NOT WISE *** if there is iurreplaceable data on
the drive !
