Corruption

The mdb is corrupted and cannot be repaired by the
compact & repair utility.

The corruption manifests itself as follows; All work fine
in run time and design mode until a new form is added.
After adding the new form and exiting out of Access, the
next time you open the MDB, all forms and tables have
disappeared from view.

I have already tried exporting and importing all
components but the same error occurs.

Any ideas on this please??

Thank you & regards,

John Thompson

This is an interesting problem. Do you have Jet 4.0 SP6/SP7
installed? If not I'd suggest getting up to date. Also the latest
SRs. See the MS Fixes page at my website for more info and links.

To determine if you have the latest version of Jet installed you
search on msjet40.dll on your system. You should only find the one
in your WIndows\System 32 directory. When you right click on the
file >> Properties >> Version you should see 4.0.6218.0 for Jet 4.0 SP
6 or newer. If older then you need to update it.

If Windows XP ignore the msjet40.dll files found in the following
directories:
C:\WINDOWS\LastGood\System32
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

If Windows 2000 ignore the msjet40.dll files found in the following
directories:
C:\WINNT\ServicePackFiles\i386
