Corrupted music file

I have two music players (Window Media Player and Real Player) and they both
make my music skip when played.
I tried a system restore that works for a while, but when I get on the web
the skipping starts again.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both players and the skipping has
returned.
I am beginning to believe the music file is corrupted.
What can I do to stop the skipping? (wma type)
