Corrupted Folder

I have a corrupted folder. I found a good version on a backup disk. I can't
move the good folder to take the place of the corrupted folder.

I have tried all the commands to trash, delete the corrupted folder. I can't
delete. The message"Can't delete- Folder is corrupted" keeps coming up. Any
advice on how to get rid of the folder.

Hi,

Click start/run, type cmd and click ok. From the prompt, use the RD command
to remove the folder:

C:\>RD /s /q <drive>:\\<folder_path>

It didn't work which I only attribute to my ignorance to enter then command
string. It comes up immediately with c:\Documents and Settings|my name and
then I get lost

Sorry

I am kind of desperate. Seem to have serious corruption. The computer works
on ordinary tasks as long as I have Iomega Automatic Desktop Pro disabled.
But things are not right. Tried to defragment disk and get message that
Chkdsk is scheduled to run (which it isn"t). Try to run it and it won't run.
Try to go into safe mode. It doesn't go. I have three years experience but
don't claim to know it all. Restoring system to earlier points didn't cure
anything. Tried to do a XP repair from the CD disk. It didn't do any good,
although I may not have done it right. At the moment I am tired, confused and
panicky. If any body knows how to get me out of this, step by step, it would
be appreciated.

Found Problem. Removed Spyware. Scan Disk then ran and cleared up corrupted
files.

Glad you talked yourself through it. Amazing the sorts of problems that
spyware causes.
