corrupted DAtabase HELP !

I am using ACCESS 2000.
I was deleting records 300,000 records from the table when
the process was stopped. The database is corrupted and
access asked me if it could repair the DB. But the
operation failed. I downloaded the jetcomp utility and
used that but it says 'cannot compact databse'.
now when i try to open the database it gives me the error
'.. cannot find MSysDb..check the object and its path.....'
is there anyway i can get repair this database ?
Any help will be appreciated.

I sincerely hope that you made a copy of the database BEFORE you started
your efforts to repair it. If not, you may have more trouble and expense.

for some suggestions. Unfortunately, some corruption cannot be fixed - you
may need to create a new database, import what can be salvaged, and recreate
the rest.

Although it's a paid service, Peter Miller does an outstanding job of saving
corrupt databases. Try this URL:

Have a look at the Microsoft KB article:

Then have a look at Tony Toews' Access Corruption FAQ at:

unfortunately i made a copy of the corrupted DB only after
the access repair utility has run on it but before the
JETCOMP was run on it.
anyway i have read that i could try repairing the DB using
ODBC. could somebody tell me the method to do that ?

Hi,

If necessary, I think you can try a utility called Advanced Access Repair to repair your Access MDB file. It works rather well for my corrupt Access mdb files. Its web address is http://www.datanumen.com/aar/ Hope this helps.
