Corrupted Autonumber?

I have this contractor table where the primary key is ContractorID as
autonumber field and my next number should be 195..
I now tried to add a contracor and it came up with 74, which then comes up
as duplicate, cannot save data. When I tried again, it used 75, and cannot
save again.
I compacted and repaired but I still thinks the next number is in the
seventies somewhere.
How can I fix that? I hope it can be fixed.

I found the answer to fix this problem on Allen Browne's website. I followed
the instructions and it got fixed.

This was supposed to get fixed with service pack 7, I have 8 installed and
it happend anyway.
