corrupt sam database

Is there a way to repair a corrupt sam database short of
format and reinstall (no backup)?

You could try to rename it while the operating system is not running by putting the
drive in another W2K/XP machine or try a repair installation selecting the fast
option. Renaming it would remove all groups and users and leave administrator
password as null. --- Steve

Hello Steve,
The Active Directory newsgroup maybe be better suited to answer this
question. Without a backup I'd go witht he repair option mentioned in this
article...
