"Corrupt installation detected" from Out_Icon.exe. Outlook 2000 on

One specific user gets "Corrupt installation detected" every single time he
logs on.
Other users on the same TS sees this error only occationally. It doesn't
seem to cause any other errors, Outlook works fine, so does all the other
programs.

Out_Icon.exe runs from HKLM\Software\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run as
"OutlookIconRemove", a REG_SZ, pointing to C:\WINNT\Out_Icon.exe.

I renamed C:\WINNT\Out_Icon.exe to C:\WINNT\Out_Icon_2.exe, but Outlook and
everything looks like it works fine.

What is the purpose of this application?
Google, groups and support.microsoft.com all comes up blank on queryes on
out_icon.exe.

Cheers
Rolf

Hi Rolf,
have you already scaned for viruses?
In the root there is no Out_Icon_2.exe.
Please try to run in save mode and scan your pc!
