Corrupt file??

Windows XP doesn't recognize my CDROM, my CD RW anymore
and says file GEARASPIWDM.sys is probably corrupt.
I have tried to download a new driver from the Windows XP
without any luck.

Can anyone guide me in this?? Where can I get a new
digitally signed driver for both my CD Rom and Writer as
well as the PCI Simple Comm Controller.

A PCI Simple Communications Controller can be anything from a modem to a
Gameport Controller so you need to look at what devices you have in your PC
and what is actually installed correctly and work out what is missing.

As for the CD drives, the quickest way is usually to right click on them in
the deviced manager and select Uninstall. Then reboot the PC and see if XP
can find the correct drivers all by itself.
