I have just done some work on a database and transported it on a memory
stick, I then moved the Database back to a desktop PC and opened it, and all
was ok. I made no changes and closed it down, however the next timed I
tried to open it I got a "'AOIndex' is not an index in this table" error. I
cannot access any of the database. I am not trying to access any particular
table, just open the database and view the database window. I have also
tried to do a compact and repair with no success. I am using Access2003,
any advice on how to open the DB would be appreciated as I don't have a copy
and a weekend's work is down the drain.

I probably don't need to tell you that now, but back up the MDB, atleast once
a day.

This is a post on the same subject given by Dirk Goldgar:
This is probably a sign that your .mdb file has become corrupted. See
Tony Toews' Corrupt MDBs FAQ page for a thorough treatment of the
symptoms and causes of corruption, and what to do about it.

When a curroption happen to me, the only thing that helped me in the end
was, creating a new MDB, and import all the objects from the old mdb.
I hope it will work for you also
