Correct procedure for file sharing

I have 2 PCs - each connected to a router. Both PCs are on a home
network and all network drives have been mapped.

Being an asiduous online flightsimmer I have installed FS9 on PC1
and other programs related to online flying on PC2.

I am having a problem installing one of the weather programs on the
PC2 because during installation it is asking me to locate the
directory where FS9 is installed (PC1 - Program Files\Microsoft Games\..)
but when I try to browse to it using the mapped drive it won't let me open the
Microsoft Games folder.

For your information I don't use simple file sharing on the PC's and have
instead set up the drives, Program Files and Documents and Settings folders
to be shared (I'm running WinXP Professional). I have no problem accessing
any folders via Windows Explorer except for Microsoft Games folder which
when opened from PC2's Windows Explorer doesn't show any content.

The Network is standard with each PC on the same Workgroup.

Would be very grateful if somebody could tell me how to sort out this problem.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Bob

The weather program (ActiveSky5) was designed to work
either on same PC as FS9 installed or on a remote providing
one can locate FS9 directory during install. This is where I encounter
the problem. Not being able to browse to the correct folder.

Thanks for your reply

Can you key in the correct folder? hard to tell what the issue is but
maybe permissions related. On the host PC is the folder permissions set
to allow access by the user on the other PC or same user signed on to
Both PC's?

The window that pops up doesn't allow entering the path.

On host PC I log in as a user with admin rights
On the other PC I log in as Administrator.
I have only set up file sharing permissions on the host PC
but haven't granted access permission to user from the other PC.
Not sure how I would do that.

Much obliged for your help.
