Hey there i have had insane problems with Corel WordPerfect-i am
talking losing a 30 page research paper on it, doing a computer search
and coming up with mere fragmentsof it in addition to other such
fiascos. I hear chatter that Corel is horrid but it is just so simple
to use. I adore it when it works but it really really ****ks up when it
doesn't. I am justcurious if Corel makes the attempt to remedy the
problems the system is responsible for or if there is any recourse one
could take. I would greatly appreciate and value any help any of you
have to offer.

Another option I discovered (years ago after losing data the FIRST time) is
the power of save and backup-and save/backup often.

I agreed with that, I'm paranoid about saving my work as I'm working
regardless what program I'm using.

You're in the wrong newsgroup. This one is for Windows XP. If you're having
problems with WordPerfect, go to the news server cnews.corel.com and ask
your question in the newsgroup for the version of WordPerfect you use. But I
would suggest that when you ask there, you be much more specific regarding
exactly what programs you are having.

That said, I'm a happy WordPerfect user here. I've used most versions of it
since WordPerfect 4.1 for DOS (currently WordPerfect X3) with almost no
problems at all.

Corel WordPerfect has a perfectly good automatic save feature, but it is
not enabled by default. As one who learned word processing with
WordPerfect, I find Word extremely frustrating.
