Hello
I have a "Sony Analog Hi8" camera using the 3-RCA output
jacks connected to a "Sony MiniDV" using the audio/video
ID-2 input jack and then an ilink connection from
the "Sony MiniDV" to the "Sony Vaio" computers ilink jack.
I then use the menu on the "Sony MiniDV" to set the
"A/V->DV Out" to the "ON" position.
I then put the "Sony Hi8" into play mode and I can see
the video coming thru the MiniDV and onto the the
Moviemake2(MM2) recording screen.
I then choose the "Start Capture" on MM2 and it looks
like its starting to record whats on the Hi8 camera but
when you choose the "Start Capture" it sends a signal
back to the MiniDV to go into "Play mode" and now whats
being recorded is what ever was on the MiniDV and not the
Hi8 camera.
Then I tryed taking the tape out of the MiniDV, but
MM2 said I need to put a tape into the MiniDV.
It seems that if MM2 would allow you instruct the program
to not engage "play mode" on the MiniDV camera, then
everything would be fine.
The only way I can accomplish the task is to record the
Hi8 over to the MiniDV and then in a seperate action,
record the MiniDV to the computer. Unfortunately a
additional step that seems like it should not be
necessary.
Any help out there ?
