Copying values from one sheet to the same cell in another sheet

I'm sure this is a very simple theing to do but right now I just can't think
of a way to accomplish it.
All I am looking to do is copy the value in cell A1 or A2 or B4 etc. in
sheet1, into the corresponding cell, A1 or A2 or B4, in sheet2.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

in A1 on the second sheet, hit the equals sign, then click on the tab for the
1st sheet (at the bottom of the spreadsheet), then click on A1 on the first
sheet

If you copy down (Ctrl-D) to A2, A3, etc and copy across (Ctrl-R) to B1, B2,
etc, the furmula will automattically adjust.
