copying *.pst files

I have outlook 2003 and travel a lot, so I am constantly copying my .pst file from my desktop computer to my notebook. (not lan or server) but when I copy the *.pst file all my email accounts, shortcuts, and general settings get lost and have to re do them. I am sure that this information is kept somewhere else than the *.pst file, but where? I need to know in order to also copy that file when copying my *.pst.
