copying movie to dvd and doesn't play

I have tried several times to copy my movie that I have created on movie
maker to a DC and a DVD. My computer says it's been copied but yet it won't
play on my DVD player. It tries to load then says "bad disk" What do I do.

Simply burning a video file onto a DVD
creates a data DVD not a Video DVD...

And if you wish to use a CD...you need a
program that is capable of creating a VCD
(VideoCD).
