Copying home movies from Beta

I have old Beta movies that I would like to transfer to
my new DVD recorder which is part of my new Sony
computer. However, the movie software does not recognize
the Beta player. Hooked up with RCA connectors. Help!
Please.
 
By the movie software do you mean Windows Movie Maker or the software Sony
supplies to do this?
