When I copy from the DVD to my hard disk, i see that sometimes it will take
193 minutes to copy. If I cancel this and start it over again, I take only 4
minutes to copy the same thing. The first time I stop it before anything
gets copied. Can anyone heolp me with this. It happens with at leaast three
computersl.

Yeah; you're just picking up where you left off;
everything needed is already in memory so most of the
job is already done, doesn't have to be repeated. Do a
Restart or something else to flush memory and you'll be
back to the long period of time.

I neglected to say that this happens when I don't reboot the computer. I
never know which it is going to be. It will work correctly sometimes and
incorrectly at others. I can do a copy and then paste whick takes 129
minutes; stop it and do a copy and past in 129 minutes; stop it and do a copy
and paste in 4 minutes; try it with a new set of data, copy and paste in 129
minutes; stop it copy and paste in 4 minutes. It makes no difference if I
reboot the computer.
