copying files

I tried copying a file to an external drive. I keep
getting an error message "cannot copy _msl: It is being
used by another person or program." All programs are
closed s I don't know what is causing the problem.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Is any programs running in the background that might be accessing that file?
Look in your task manager or do start -> run -> msconfig and click on
startup tab to
see if the program that uses the file starts doing boot
