Copying files

I regularly have to copy MS Access 2000 database files across our network.
We use a simple peer-to-peer setup. But once the files have been opened (and
closed so they are not in use), they cannot be over-written by my machine
until the user deletes them. And users cannot copy from my machine. In both
cases, they show as in use though they are not.

Anyone with thoughts to solve this?

Have you tried forcing the open file closed, from the server? Both Windows 2000
(Server 2000/2003) and Windows XP let you do this thru Computer Management -
Open Files.

Of course that assumes the files are truly closed. If you force closed an open
file, you could end up with corrupted data. So be careful.

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
