Copying files across network results in corruption

Hello,

I have been having an intermittent problem. One workstation has a user
that copies files to another workstation across the network. Most of
the time the files copy okay. But sometimes
they are corrupted. The method that the user is using is to copy the
local file (Ctrl-C), then open up a browser window of the destination
(i.e. start-run- \\computer\c\drivers) then paste (Ctrl-V).

We first started to notice this when the IP address was
manually/statically assigned. I am not sure if this is the true cause.
There are no IP address conflicts. The cabling seems to work fine. The
network card drivers could be the culprit here? It is most likely the
destination computer as this one is the only one known on the network
to have this problem.

Any hints or ideas here?

Thanks.

Have you scanned the source for malware? that could be a cause,
otherwise on the hardware level it could be the network adapter
although i have never heard of such a thing, you migth want to try a
different card in the pc and see if you get better results.

Flamer.
