I have a spreadsheet that when I copy one of the columns(dates), to a
new spreadsheet, it subtract 4 years from the date. If I copy the
dates to a new column on the same spreadsheet, the dates are
unaffected. It only happens when I copy to a new sheet, and it only
happens once. Where can I uncover whatever formatting is doing this?

That particular file have 1904 date system checked under
tools>options>calculations. Maybe there was a reason like wanting be able to
have negative time values. You can uncheck that, put 1462 in an empty cell,
copy it and select all dates
and do edit>paste special and check add, then reformat them as dates since
most likely they will
return the serial number for the dates..

I presume you are copying to a new workbook, not a new spreadsheet within
the same workbook.

One of your workbooks is probably using the 1904 date system and the other
not.

Use Tools> Options> Calculation tab> select or deselect the "1904 Date
System" option as appropriate for your preferences.
