Copying color document from word to email

I have documents that have words written in different color...when i copy
these and try to paste in the body of an email, the words do not print in the
email in color...its in black and white. I uninstalled Microsoft word and
re-installed but still have the problem...At one time this problem didn't
occur. I don't know what changed. How can i paste the documents to the email
and have the words print in colors.
 
Is the email plain text or rich text (HTML)? Why not send the document as an
attachment instead?
