copy to SD Memory card?

I would like to copy to an SD memory card with my compaq Presario V2665US.
Is this possible? How would I do it?

Insert the card in your card reader....
The card should show in My Computer
as a removable disk.

Now try...right click>copy / right click>paste
or drag/drop to the removable disk.

Following your advice to drag and drop or copy to my SD card when i do either
of these actions i get error message saying "Cannot create or replace The
disk is write protected remove the writer protection or use another disk" Any
ideas
