Hi,

I have XP Pro and want to copy many k of images to another backup drive.

I see them all, (say all .jpg files) in the Search function but have found many
files have the same name but they are in different folders. They may or may
not be the same file, so I cannot just only copy one of each name over.

Is there a way I can copy these files with the folder name they're in ?
That way the files could be the same name but still in the folder name they
were in.

Even if it is not in the same folder name, at least separate from other files
of the same name.

Even if MS doesn't do this, are there any suggestions how I can do this. I
have about 150,000 files in total I need to copy over, so I cannot do it
manually,, file by file or folder by folder.

Thanks

I can't think of any built-in MS way to do this (other than going back to
MS-DOS and using XCOPY). Not sure if this would work, but it might: You
could try using something like WinZip, and selecting all the files in the
Search, and adding them to a Zip file on the backup drive? I'm pretty sure
there's an option to preserve the file path. I don't know if this is
possible with the built-in MS zip file functionality.

Best Wishes,
Kurosh
